This podcast is very unique with a fresh, insightful, unpretetentious perspective on the storied genre of WW II films. I especially enjoy the host’s, (Jeff’s), wry wit and “sidebars” delivered with idiosyncratic phrasing.
As a self proclaimed WW2 and movie nerd I haven’t found too many people who can go toe-to-toe with me on facts and theory. I grew up watching old black and white movies like Run Silent Run Deep and 30 seconds over Tokyo so I was drawn to this podcast. The hosts insights and research are well thought out and organized. Kind of disappointing. was hoping for a show like Simmons Rewatchables,which is the benchmark for this type of podcast. This is mostly a rote reading summary of each movies plot. Would like to hear more info regarding production,casting,location stories etc.
