  • Such needed space for women in medicine of color

Great to see doctors that look like me (and practice at Morehouse, my alma mater) discussing personal finances in a straightforward yet entertaining way. I have already taken action on some items on their checklist such as HSA options at my employer. I look forward to the places this duo will go!

  • Name a better duo, I’ll wait

First came across Dr. Taylor on another podcast. I enjoy Dr Taylor’s prespective as a young, female physician with no children because it’s the position I am in as well. This podcast has been an absolute blast. Have 2 different perspective really helps for future planning. Easy podcast to listen to and I always learn a lot!

Why High-Income Doctors Still Feel Broke — And How to Fix It
Q: How should physicians approach choosing a financial advisor to avoid common traps?
Educate yourself enough to vet advisors; ask about fees, how they're paid, whether they've worked with other high-earning professionals, and request transparency on portfolio performance and alignment with your goals.
Why High-Income Doctors Still Feel Broke — And How to Fix It
Q: What is the first step you recommend for a physician who wants to get their money under control?
Define your own version of success first, then map your money goals to that definition, so you aren't chasing a lifestyle that isn't realmente aligned with what you value.
Credit card redemption strategies & travel hacking for a family of 4
Q: What is the first step for families starting with loyalty accounts and point collection?
Create loyalty accounts for yourself first, then gradually add accounts for family members. It's important to set up these accounts early because some programs require a minimum period before points can be redeemed and to prevent fraud or delays when booking.
Credit card redemption strategies & travel hacking for a family of 4
Q: What should families do differently when earning points compared to solo travelers?
Families should establish a simple system that leverages transferable currencies (like AmEx, Chase, Capital One, Citi) and plan around everyday expenses to accumulate more points, then remain flexible with airports, dates, and potential split cabins to maximize availability.
Your money questions answered
Q: Do I need life insurance as a single 30-year-old woman with no dependents?
Life insurance may not be immediately necessary if no dependents rely on your income, but having employer-provided coverage and reassessing as life changes (marriage, children) is prudent; consider term life for affordable protection during the years you're building wealth.
