If NPR did a show about Detective Comics, it wouldn’t be this good! Love the show. Come for Batman and stay for the history lesson.

I am largely unfamiliar with The Doom Patrol, but that doesn’t interfere with my enjoyment of this show. The hosts are entertaining, engaging, and honest in their assessment of the books. Negative reviews never come off as mean spirited. In fact, they seem to be upset when they don’t enjoy the book they’re reading, which is refreshing. Packed full of entertainment. I laugh, I cry. More fun then a hedgehog in your pocket.
Whether you like Dom Patrol or the big DC events, Paul and Mike have a show for you.... these two Aussies (is that a derogatory term at this point?), know their Doom Patrol and has been waving that flag gladly. Great work. And now with Professor Nerfherder treating Paul by covering ALL the great DC events (and also Millennium and War of the Gods) this is a podcast not to miss.

A witty, in-depth analysis show focused on a long-running DC superhero team, mixing comic book history, issue-by-issue breakdowns, and humor-laced discussion. Listeners get thoughtful takes on Doom Patrol's varied runs, cross-title events, and the broader DC universe, all delivered with generous pop-culture banter and a clear affection for the material. The hosts' chemistry—sharply insightful, lightly cheeky, and relentlessly enthusiastic—keeps complex storylines approachable for both new readers and longtime fans. A standout is the balance between rigorous commentary and playful riffing, plus frequent callbacks to classic era dirt-digging and modern revivals that help sponsors reach a dedicated nerd-audience.
