After suffering a schizophrenic episode, the 30-year-old was awaiting a pre-trial mental health assessment at a Lindsay Ontario jail. He was pepper sprayed, shackled, and wore a spit hood. But there was no footage of what went on inside his segregation cell that day. “Unasce... more

To entertain an interview with shamed, charged and FIRED ex-correctional officer Benko is laughable. He’s a “Lugger” in jail terms. The most disgraced of anyone one in the profession. Look up his story and get your answer as to the why for his narrative to this story.
Well made, respectful, and factual
I like it
This story is so tragic, and sadly not well known outside of Ontario. I really appreciate the humanizing portrayal of Soleiman and schizophrenia. Yusuf Zine has a fantastic broadcasting voice and interviewing skills. I was very moved by the conversations he had with Yusuf (Soleiman’s brother), because you could tell that he really cares about this family. As per usual with TVO, the production value and storytelling are top-notch.
This is such a tragedy! Well done Innerspeak and TVO for telling this story.
