This review is long overdue. I have listened to many Financial Independence podcasts and I have learned so much about FIRE.
Two sides of FI was exactly what I needed when I found out about this podcast.
It is very informative, educational and entertaining. Two close friends talking about where they are in their FI journey. No forced or fake laughter, two buddies talking about how they’ve navigated through their decisions with honesty love and humor. I appreciate the show and have learned a ton.... more
This is a must listen podcast for the fire community! I’ve been living the FIRE lifestyle for 10 years, and this is the best podcast and conversations I’ve ever heard on the non financial aspects of FI. It’s more than just about the numbers. This is a beautiful resource for this. Thanks guys for all you do.
I’m working my way through the catalogue from day 1 and it has been a super interesting and relatable journey. Far from retiring myself, currently one of those who are not sure if retiring early is my goal, but these conversations really bring to light some of the lesser talked about challenges of the FIRE journey. I like the chemistry between Jason and Eric and looking forward to seeing how the journey continues!
Jason and Eric do a great job having conversations each episode on dedicated topics. It feels very organic, and I enjoy that they talk about the mental/emotional aspect about money perhaps more than numbers. Cheers to many more years!
Being a latecomer to FI I’ve binge listened to most of the previous episodes and have really enjoyed how real and relatable Jason and Eric are. It feels like I’m hanging out with a couple of buddies talking about life. Thanks for opening your financial life to us listeners and helping guide us in a relaxed fun way. You guys are awesome!

Conversations revolve around the journey of financial independence and early retirement (FIRE), as hosts share personal experiences, insights, and the emotional facets of transitioning into this lifestyle. The dialogue often blends practical advice on financial strategies such as budgeting, investment, and withdrawal rates with relatable narratives and reflections on identity, lifestyle changes, and challenges faced in post-retirement life. The unique aspect lies in the candid discussions about lesser-explored topics like mental health, social relationships, and the psychological hurdles encountered during this pivotal journey, making it appealing for both newcomers and those already engaged in the FIRE movement.
