  • Career shifts

Love the July 27 episode on curing soul burnout and getting your mind and life aligned. Jordan doesn’t incredible job cutting through the Corporate noise to address what actually happens when a career path ends or changes. As someone who faced a sudden Corporate exit at 63 and had to rebuild from scratch. I really appreciate his focus on personal identity and real execution over the bloated Financial models. Outstanding show!

  • Irritating

Wanted to like this podcast. Unfortunately the content is repetitive and the voice, irritating intonation and weird pauses makes for difficult listening.

  • Great information. I love this podcast.

This is one of my favorite podcasts, because you can tell how genuine Doc G is. He really cares about what information he gives in his podcast, not just what will get the most downloads. I have gotten a wealth of knowledge from his episodes and look forward to each new one that comes out.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

766. Cash in on Your Forever Paycheck w/ Jean Chatzky
Q: What are the baseline calculations for determining how much of a paycheck you need in retirement?
Start with current spending as a baseline, map expected changes in the early retirement years (more travel, home renovations) and then estimate how much of that needs to be covered by a paycheck versus other income like Social Security or pensions, ensuring a portion remains exposed to growth to fight inflation.
756. Why Size Still Matters (Rewind) w/ Victor Haghani
Q: What practical advice would you give to a DIY investor who wants to apply these ideas without hiring Elm Wealth?
Focus on risk-adjusted thinking, use broad asset classes with attention to sizing rather than chasing flashy assets, and run simple thought experiments to estimate risk premiums and the amount you're willing to lose. The core ideas are accessible without heavy math, and the concepts themselves can guide better, more sustainable decisions.
756. Why Size Still Matters (Rewind) w/ Victor Haghani
Q: Explain in simple terms what expected utility is and what outcomes you hope to achieve by applying it to spending and investing decisions.
Expected utility is about choosing policies that maximize the overall happiness or welfare from wealth over the rest of life, considering both spending and investment. The goal is not merely to maximize wealth but to balance spending, risk, taxes, and bequests to achieve the highest lifetime satisfaction.
748. Publicity is for Everyone w/ Sarah Snyder
Q: Why should an average person consider publicity?
Because publicity influences everyday decisions and perceptions—what people read, watch, and hear about you—and it can help you authentically present yourself and grow opportunities.
748. Publicity is for Everyone w/ Sarah Snyder
Q: What exactly is publicity and how does it differ from PR?
Publicity is the dissemination and public perception of information, while PR is the broader strategic communication; publicity is one channel that shapes how you're seen by others.
