  • The people need more Rogersbase TV takes

Been loving catching up on the newer pod episodes, Roger! As a long time subscriber who used to watch your Once Upon a Time reviews (finding a One Piece and OUAT reviewer was my worlds colliding at the time lol) I would love a longer form video on your Severance season 2 and overall thoughts! I agree it’s one of the best shows I’ve ever watched so far, and the Gemma episode solidified that for me both visually and storytelling wise. Maybe you’d consider doing a Succession video one day as well?

Big Predictions for Nintendo in 2026 - Touch Base with RogersBase
Q: What are your boldest Nintendo predictions for 2026?
My boldest prediction is that Gen 10 Pokemon will be announced for the Switch 2 during Pokemon Day and released this holiday season as a Switch 2 exclusive, with a large-scale, system-selling experience designed to showcase the new hardware capabilities.
Ep. 26 - Touch Base with RogersBase
Q: Do you think Sakurai will return to Smash Brothers, or will he pursue a new project?
I believe Sakurai is likely involved in supervising the next Smash Brothers project, potentially a reboot or a Switch 2 edition; it's plausible he might tackle a new IP like an F-Zero or another Nintendo franchise in a different genre, while staying connected to Smash.
Ep. 26 - Touch Base with RogersBase
Q: What are your must-buy games for the Switch 2 launch, and why those titles?
Donkey Kong Bonanza is my number one pick for its platforming excellence and performance on Switch 2; Hades 2 follows as a strong alternative; I'd also recommend Kirby Air Riders for launch alongside Mario Kart Tour and Pokemon Legends ZA based on their content and potential value in bundles.
Ep. 26 - Touch Base with RogersBase
Q: What is a dream combination in gaming that you would like to see, and what is something in media that has terrified you?
I would love a Nintendo versus Capcom style tag fighter with Nintendo characters, similar to Marvel vs. Capcom, and as for something terrifying in media, I'm unsettled by gore in modern thrillers unless it serves a narrative purpose; I can tolerate it in shows like Attack on Titan but not in many horror films.
Ep. 28 - Touch Base with RogersBase
Q: What were your favorite movies, shows and games that you've experienced this year?
The host previews a year-end recap video for games and discusses favorites like Severance, Pluribus on Apple TV, Stranger Things finale, and upcoming titles he hasn't finished yet, while noting that a more complete list will come in a separate end-of-year video.
