  • Pretty Funny, Also 🤔

Good show. Undoubtedly the funniest of the “revolutions” podcasts. Lots of informative and insightful content. Though I fear they may never know the genius that is Wu Tang v Ninja (1985), aka Ninja Hunter.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

EP. 905: AMERICA UNFINISHED ft. ALEXANDRA NATAPOFF
Q: Do you think it's under a serious attack?
Natapoff expresses concern that academic freedom is increasingly under pressure, both at high-profile institutions and elsewhere, emphasizing that silencing dissent has long been a political and legal concern.
EP. 905: AMERICA UNFINISHED ft. ALEXANDRA NATAPOFF
Q: How has that conflict shaped for you personally, the way you think about the role of universities in a democracy?
Natapoff discusses academic freedom as a practical, exercised right within universities, arguing for open dialogue, defense of free inquiry, and the responsibility to challenge power through scholarly work.
EP. 905: AMERICA UNFINISHED ft. ALEXANDRA NATAPOFF
Q: Before you answer that, were you working before the crime bill?
Natapoff clarifies her professional timeline, noting her experience in the legal field after the crime bill era and highlighting how times and policies shaped opportunities in criminal defense.
EP. 901 A DICTATOR IN PERU PART II ELECTRIC BOOGALOO ft. CAMILO GOMEZ
Q: Can you tell us a little bit about who Keiko Fujimori is and why the Fujimori name is so politically powerful in Peru?
Keiko Fujimori is the daughter of Alberto Fujimori; she has been a long-standing, though controversial, leader of Fuerza Popular, riding on a legacy of her father's presidency. The family name carries significant weight due to decades of political branding, perceived continuity, and a deep-rooted loyalty among certain voter blocs, even as many others view Fujimorism as associated with authoritarian and neoliberal policies from the 1990s.
EP. 898: THE END OF HISTORY (MOVIE) ft. JACOB GREGOR
Q: What possessed you to want to make a film that is oh, so lonely and stark?
The director explains that loneliness is his general vibe and that the film grew out of a road-trip concept and a fascination with lonely characters, aiming to explore a protagonist who is largely isolated and consumes media rather than engaging with the world.
