  • Pretty Funny, Also 🤔

Good show. Undoubtedly the funniest of the “revolutions” podcasts. Lots of informative and insightful content. Though I fear they may never know the genius that is Wu Tang v Ninja (1985), aka Ninja Hunter.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

EP. 890: DREAMING OF THE RIVER ft. PAULINE STEINHORN
Q: You write in your book, She Survived To Tell Her Story So That It Wouldn't Happen Again. How would your mother interpret the present moment related to this history?
Her perspective would emphasize the ongoing need to resist dehumanization and to insist that democratic rights and human dignity apply to everyone, including immigrants and minorities. She would likely advocate for education and active civic engagement to prevent repetition of past atrocities.
WHAT FRESH HELL EP. 22
Q: Kuba, how do you think we can deal with reactionary discrimination whack-a-mole where a single individual can inflame an entire community?
Build cross-community partnerships and promote truth over solidarity with problematic actors; emphasize shared suffering and rally allies across communities to counter racist narratives, while acknowledging mistakes and implementing reforms where governance failed.
WHAT FRESH HELL EP. 24
Q: What might Israel offer Trump to walk away from the peace deal with Iran?
They speculate a deal built on keeping the war going while delivering concessions to Trump through political clout and election-related backing, potentially leveraging APAC and pro-Israel networks to neutralize domestic opposition while pressuring Israel to adjust its strategic posture.
WHAT FRESH HELL EP. 24
Q: What's the advantage of sticking with Israel versus Iran?
The guests argue that the U.S.-Israel relationship is deeply entrenched domestically, with an influential pro-Israel network that shapes policy; this makes a clean pivot toward Iran difficult, and any strategy must reckon with domestic political realities and the power of established alliances.
EP. 887: RAINFOREST RADICALS ft. DAVID BENAC
Q: How did RAND differ from earlier environmental organizations like Earth First?
Benac notes RAND broadened activism beyond wilderness-focused campaigns, adopted non-violent tactics, and built a network of local 'rags' to empower grassroots groups across regions.
