  • Binge listened !

I was told about the Podcast at The Wave about 3 months and thought I’d give it a go. Instantly relatable, incredibly helpful, encouraging, heartbreaking, and above all hilarious.

Gutted to have listened to them all as I have to wait patiently for the next episode. Keep up the fabulous work guys.

  • Mondays used to suck…until this podcast came along!

The best surf banter you’ll find this side of the Atlantic, with the most down-to-earth guys and some awesome guests. I’m usually laughing so hard I have to press pause! There are no egos here. Just really interesting chats about the joys of surfing in the UK, everything you wanted to know about boards or fins, wetsuits and winter gear, the highs and lows of being a surfer, and lots of laughs inbetween. Genuine and relatable. Makes Mondays much more bearable!

  • Landlocked tonic

Listened for the first time to anatomy of a surfer episode. I’m a complete beginner but pretty obsessed following 2 lessons in Scarborough this autumn. As a landlocked newbie this is just what I need. Great chat and brilliant tips.

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Ep. 141 Sam Bleakley
Q: How do you manage psychological resilience in competition?
Trust that things will align when the light's good, practice positivity, and mindfulness, which help relax nerves and enhance performance.
Ep. 141 Sam Bleakley
Q: Do you think that the emerging surf cultures feel a bit more honest because they're presumably not very commercialized?
Yes, the worst thing for emerging surf cultures is to think they will become the next world champion, but there are many opportunities to derive joy and business out of surfing.
Ep. 141 Sam Bleakley
Q: If you could only surf for the rest of your life and have the chance to do hang 10 or get barreled, what would it be?
I'd go for hang 10. It's special, weightless, and has a minimalist element; it's very Zen.
Ep. 141 Sam Bleakley
Q: Was there a point where you kind of knew where it was going, where you wanted it to go?
I thought I was going to be a travel writer or maybe an academic in cultural geography. But surfing kept pulling me back, and I managed to work around my love of surfing, travel, and history.
Ep. 137 Chris Thomson
Q: What inspired the acquisition of Wavelength and how has the journey been?
The journey of acquiring Wavelength has been complex, but necessary to preserve its legacy within the surf community. It felt like a natural fit, as the team already had experience with surf media and community engagement.
