  • Why is it rude to not knock on the fridge door before opening it?

There maybe a salad dressing inside.

Also Clair’s joke about the halloumi cheese was no gouda.

The Rod-less episodes are the best! Moar Todd and less Rod please.

Okay one serious comment, on the latest episode, #19, it was mentioned that you guys were (unfortunately) praised having the show be about the people we don’t know who make the whole sport tick. The mechanics, the truckies, grunts and all. What I want to say is I absolutely would love for you to keep unashamedly focusing on that. ... more

  • All men?

Are all high performers on life men? There’s a female interviewed in less than one in every ten episodes? Feels very much made for the male gaze. Really disappointing.

Love content and the info you manage to tease out of your guests. Unfortunately since you have started with the video I am unable to listen to your Podcast through my usual method. So unfortunately I gave to unsubscribe. As an aside Hp racing works fine as a podcast.

  • What a discovery!

Stumbled across High Performance a few months ago. Now completely addicted to it. The guests are an eclectic mix but there hasn’t been one that isn’t fascinating. Just listed to the Nims episode. What a man! Highly recommend.

Fernando Alonso: The Real Pain of Losing
Q: What's your one golden rule for listeners chasing high performance in their own lives?
Never underestimate even the easiest task, because continuous adaptation is essential; the world is always changing and you must maintain self-confidence, discipline, and a relentless drive to deliver something extra every day.
Fernando Alonso: The Real Pain of Losing
Q: What has been the biggest lesson you learned about yourself through the different disciplines you've explored beyond Formula One?
Stepping into other disciplines showed me I could learn quickly, stay humble, and apply the same discipline to new environments. The core skills—preparation, focus, and adaptability—translated across Le Mans, Dakar, and Indy, reinforcing that growth comes from embracing new challenges rather than clinging to a single identity.
Fernando Alonso: The Real Pain of Losing
Q: So, Fernando, you started your driving career at the tender age of three. Tell us a bit about your family's motivation to get you behind the wheel so early.
My family valued fun and support over pressure. My father was a go-kart driver and built a small kart at home. My siblings were involved, and my early racing was kept in a light, curious spirit rather than a push for stardom; the door opened as a natural progression and a dream worth pursuing.
Steve Hansen: Building The Greatest Team In History
Q: How do you handle external criticism and pressure?
By embracing pressure as a constant, preparing for negative scenarios, and having concrete plans to stay in the moment and execute regardless of what others say.
Steve Hansen: Building The Greatest Team In History
Q: What does it mean to run a culture where rules aren't the backbone?
Rules are seen as guides for the brave and inhibiting the foolish; culture comes from shared non-negotiable expectations and ownership, not from enforcing compliance through rigid rules.
