I stumbled upon Seamas’ podcast as an expat Canadian from London who first moved down on a temporary basis when I met my now husband, and we decided to make W.Cornwall our permanent home just before the pandemic. We’ve been checked out of one rental property since, and had to offer well over asking price to secure our second. We live down here in order to maintain a relationship with his three children from his former relationship and I have to admit, we often feel we are “turfing someone out” w... more
I’d like to continue this conversation. Seamus makes some accurate observations. A pretty good, thorough, balanced, fair appraisal of contemporary culture and geopolitics of this wedge of rock.
I love how this podcast take the listener on a real journey through Cornwall but also through place and culture.
The story telling is wonderful- I binged the whole thing in one day - and it asks some insightful questions about how we live and what is important.
Interesting, moving and thought provoking
This is a great podcast. Seamas digs deep into some uncomfortable parts of Cornish history and explores delicate topics like identity and community in a very tactful and open-minded way.
I have learned so much about Cornwall and have been very moved by most, if not all, episodes. Highly recommend and I hope there is another series to come.
