Really good story but the editing and production are so extra and annoying
3 episodes in and still can’t tell who is narrating. No thanks.
Loved this podcast. Amazing story and brilliantly told.
Another fakey. Everything is acted. Nothing is real. I get, why people like it. But it's just too much tear jerking on purpose for me. The real story is truly exciting enough. Why adding all this extra cheapo average audio-hollywood-stuff on top?
It's an inspiring story that doesn't sugarcoat what happened. Thanks to the family for sharing their story with us.
Captivating. Provocative. Insightful. Need more wonderful stories such as this. Odysseus move over.
Wow, what an unbelievable and gripping story. Beautifully told. Love hearing from the children now, and the actors are also great in the dramatisations.
It kept me engaged albeit I did get lost a few times- felt they didn’t make a few things clear here and there.
I’ve never binged watched or listened to anything before… until this! Such an amazing story. I want to read the book now.
Yes. Loved the story. Riveting, infuriating and hopeful events all the way through. As others have said a bit hard to follow who is talking, and about whom but I made do with grouping survivor voices together most of the time. A shame we don’t get to clearly identify who the real survivor voices are, against the actor voices.
I have no idea what’s going on and the background audio is so distracting and makes it hard to hear the story. So…it’s a bad podcast? Yes, a bad podcast unfortunately.
More, more, more of this.
What a taut and utterly gripping tale of the human spirit—of the limits and boundaries that can be reached through suffering. This story taught me something profound about what it is to be a family, about the strength of mind required to carry on, and about where true resilience actually comes from.
I don’t believe Dougal would have continued had it not been for his family—had it not been for doing it for others. And that, to me, is the most valuable lesson of all: th... more
What an incredible story, and beautifully told.
Amazing story of survival, and of people’s ability to prevail even in the most dire of circumstances. Fantastic production too.
Got m me into podcasts again. Amazing production and sound. Listening with good headphones on at night while walking I kept checking back behind me and to either side because I was hearing the awesome stereo sound effects from the podcast!
