From Employee to Business Owner in His 20s
Q: How did you decide to transition from employee to business owner in your 20s?
Krish explains recognizing that the asset he and his clients manage is the most valuable for owners, which motivated him to build a more accountable, tech-enabled, and client-centric agency.
From back Injury to building a digital marketing agency - Mark Thomas: The Quiet Operator Ep 7
Q: Have you found that you still rely on ads for client intake, or is it mostly referrals and networking plus occasional campaigns?
We rely on referrals and networking, supplemented by targeted campaigns from time to time. The company intentionally uses a mix, not constant advertising, to balance acquisition with relationship-driven growth.
From back Injury to building a digital marketing agency - Mark Thomas: The Quiet Operator Ep 7
Q: So Mark, Zen10's involved in digital marketing, as well as website design and web hosting. Do you mind to tell me a little bit more about how the business works?
The business splits planning and execution across paid ads (primarily Google and Meta), web development, and hosting. About 40% is ads, 40% is web work, and 20% hosting, with a focus on deep client relationships and becoming a trusted advisor as the business grows.
Broke at 18. Three Properties by 28. The Tradie Who Refused to Quit | Yehya The Quiet Operator Ep 4
Q: What does a typical day look like now as a business owner who still does on-site work and manages orders, quotes, and customer meetings?
It's a mix of on-site breakdowns, shop work, parts ordering, quoting, and regular customer service, all while trying to grow the business; I do it all myself and try to keep the wheels turning.
Broke at 18. Three Properties by 28. The Tradie Who Refused to Quit | Yehya The Quiet Operator Ep 4
Q: So how did you get into this to begin with, was this something you decided to do after high school?
I discovered auto electrical work through a TAFE trade course during high school, did a two-week placement that led to a job offer, and decided to pursue it rather than engineering; it grew from there.
