I so have loved listening to this podcast and watching the magic unfold leading up to the book launch. As a marketer myself, I’ve really appreciated the strategy here in addition to the incredibly insightful content. Thanks for creating this space. • It’s good … but…

Overall there are some really great things about this podcast. I would just say… you don’t have to mention your book in every episode. Also- you don’t have to mention your rise to success in every episode — we know you are successful— that’s why we are listening. Let your guests shine — show more curiosity about them. You can step into the background a bit and still shine.

How to Build Something Meaningful From Your Worst Chapter (Sarah Jakes Roberts)
Q: What does it take to build a movement rather than just a moment with a personal brand?
Focus on a core message, radical responsibility, and consistently aligning how you show up with that message across speaking, books, and events, while building teams and partnerships that sustain the work.
Oprah Winfrey Interviews Emma Grede on Her Debut Book "Start with Yourself”
Q: What is your view on work-life balance, and how do you manage family and business responsibilities?
Balance is not the goal; alignment is. In practice, Emma emphasizes integrating work and life, setting high but realistic boundaries, and prioritizing rest and family time without guilt.
Oprah Winfrey Interviews Emma Grede on Her Debut Book "Start with Yourself”
Q: How do you take radical ownership of our lives without gaslighting ourselves or dismissing real barriers?
Two things can be true at the same time: the system may be unfair, but you must not let that determine the size of your future; you can pursue your goals with ownership while recognizing external obstacles.
On Negativity, Ambition, and Building a Serious Business (Tory Burch)
Q: How did you decide to pivot from the initial company name to Tory Burch and the eventual branding?
Feedback from trusted peers, including Kenny J Lane, convinced me to drop the terrible existing name and adopt Tory Burch as the brand identity, which aligned with the product and public perception.
On Negativity, Ambition, and Building a Serious Business (Tory Burch)
Q: What were you saying to investors during the 120-person friends-and-family round?
I framed it as a determination to pursue a global lifestyle brand with a clear vision that would eventually support a foundation, while being honest about risks and the potential for loss, which helped manage expectations.
