This is a great podcast as a middle school athlete. It helps a lot and it is fun to listen to the stories from some of the athletes.

  • Wish i had know about this sooner

This podcast is a great tool for parents trying to navigate youth sports and best support their kids. These guys have a passion for helping and it so beneficial to hear both a ‘been there’ and ‘going through it’ perspective. I really wish i had heard what they had to say about 10 years ago, it would made thing a bit easier than learning it the hard way. Thanks Brad, Britt & Jeff - keep up the great work!

  • Wealth of knowledge

We absolutely love this podcast. It is a wealth of knowledge for parents raising youth athletes. In fact… many of the episodes we have our 10th grade baseball player listen to. This podcast is very grounding + insightful into what it takes to go all the way + to stay balanced in body, mind + spirit in who you are on the journey.

PA Replay: Andruw Jones — From Curaçao to Cooperstown
Q: What's your best memory from your big-league career?
There are many, but starting in the Maya League, making it to the World Series, and first All-Star experience stand out; the value is in the lifetime of moments and the people you shared them with.
PA Replay: Bobby Witt Jr. — From MLB Son to MLB Star
Q: What would you tell parents about travel ball and development today?
Encourage kids to play and enjoy the game, avoid overinvesting in showcases if they're not getting actual playing time, and focus on long-term development and having fun over recruiting pressure.
PA Replay: Bobby Witt Jr. — From MLB Son to MLB Star
Q: How did you approach developing defensively to become more well-rounded?
Start by identifying weaknesses, then build a plan with drills to improve specific aspects (like forehand infield moves), and slow down to make routine plays instinctive, aiming to use the whole field.
PA Replay: Bobby Witt Jr. — From MLB Son to MLB Star
Q: What was the learning curve like when you jumped from high school to professional baseball?
The key was recognizing that it's the same game at a higher level, with more preparation, a routine, and mental training; staying disciplined with pregame habits and guarding against overdoing batting practice.
PA Replay: Former MLS Star & USMNT Player Taylor Twellman
Q: What should parents do to make the youth soccer experience better for their kids?
Expose kids to a variety of sports and experiences, prioritize happiness and passion, and avoid forcing an early specialization; focus on education and making the experience enjoyable so kids stay engaged.
