Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Psychedelics: The Answer is Within You with Zappy Zapolin
Q: How do you approach guiding someone through their first psychedelic experience to ensure safety and meaningful outcomes?
I assess the person's intention and traumas, tailor a guided journey, and emphasize preparation and integration, so the medicine can catalyze real neural and behavioral changes rather than just a one-off experience.
Psychedelics: The Answer is Within You with Zappy Zapolin
Q: What brought you to the place where psychedelic-assisted healing became your calling?
A personal awakening sparked by transformative psychedelic experiences, plus a recognition that conventional paths weren't providing lasting answers, led me to explore plant medicines and devote my work to educating practitioners and expanding access.
Pimps + Pastors with Eric Robinson
Q: What happens to the victims after they are removed from trafficking situations?
Robinson describes the variability of outcomes, including cases where victims accept help and start rebuilding lives, and others where trust remains fragile and long-term support is needed; collaboration with social workers and juvenile systems is crucial.
Pimps + Pastors with Eric Robinson
Q: How do you handle the intense anger that comes with confronting this type of crime?
He explains channeling anger into taking action and providing help to victims, as well as the importance of not letting anger derail investigations, and using the work to seek justice and support for survivors.

Q: Can you give us a couple of examples from the field?
Robinson discusses an arrest of a local pastor who trafficked a 15-year-old girl to other pastors, the dynamics of coercion, and the efforts to provide services to survivors, including intervention by victim coordinators and social workers.
