Will The Mandalorian and Grogu begin to make things right? That’s the key subject of discourse as our original fourth-chair co-host returns to dissect yet another example of a once-towering franchise pulling merely okay opening weekend grosses.

Rendy Jones returns to discuss what went right with Focus Features’ Obsession (which actually opened with a $17 million opening weekend, with a very promising 2.46x multiplier) and what went wrong for Is God Is.

Andy Gorham, self-titled gentle giant and vanilla gorilla of “Action Twitter,” joins to discuss, obviously, Mortal Kombat II. What went right (an actual Mortal Kombat tournament), what went wrong (the return of Kano meant Cage was redundant), and whe... more
Somehow, Chrissi Michael returned. She and Aaron Neuwirth stepping in for last week’s Michael episode was more of a concurrent personal favor and/or a last-minute request. Still, she had always intended to reprise for this week’s Devil Wears Prada 2-... more

These people will endlessly complain about the death of the movie theater and then get super mad when a movie they don't like does well.
I like movie theaters I want them to continue to exist but It's like listening to 70-year-olds talk about the phonograph. So long.
Huge Chen head from way back, tuned in for that reason. He is barely allowed to chime in?
Episodes are so heavily edited that it’s become nearly impossible to follow a single train of thought. One person speaking will abruptly fade into someone else speaking before they can even finish a sentence. Hosts talking over one another becomes clipped audio mush with zero clarity. It’s a mess.

I have been looking for a box office podcast that provides information and a bit of commentary rather than commentary with a bit of information. I heard Scott on BO Boys and loved him. (Do NOT subscribe to BO Boys, by the way…just a couple of guys who love to hear themselves talk and provide very little insight and even less useful or interesting information.) Scott and his terrific friends give us everything we need to stay up to date on what is happening in the movie world. Nice concise chats ... more

A sharp, panel-style show that dissects weekend box office results, marketing moves, and industry dynamics with a core group of journalists and contributors. Episodes mix data-driven analysis with candid banter, guest perspectives, and timely debates on streaming, theatrical windows, and franchise strategy. Notable for its outspoken hosts who blend criticism with industry insight, plus regular guests who bring production, distribution, and criticism expertise to the table. This mix makes it useful for listeners who want both market data and cultural context around current releases and cinema trends.
