Oscar season ruins so many podcasts. I’d rather hear Katy and Chris talk about the actual movies rather than acting like sportscasters. Oof.
I have been listening to several film and TV podcast over the last few years. A couple of them are quite good. But I was glad to stumble upon this podcast. I’ve liked every episode, which is definitely not the case with the other shows.
I like Katie because she seems very down to earth but knows her stuff. But some of the guest co-hosts are bad - especially Richard Rushfield. He was an embarrassment on the movies of the year podcast (and I had the same feeling last year). He’s hardly seen any movies, comes in unprepared (didn’t even have the correct title of If I Had Legs I’d Kick You) and seems generally clueless of the current movie environment. This is the last time I’ll listen to a podcast he’s on.
Katie is so pleasant! Really warm and sharp and a great interviewer and just great.
Katie being pushed out at LGM was a bummer to me, so I’ve loved having her back in action. She’s such an engaging, smart and funny host and producer. Eager to get more Richard Lawson on the pod, but it’s been good hearing from a diverse range of guests (which LGM has often lacked, having to stick with the VF roster). Much prefer the analysis and news section of the show to the celebrity interviews- I get my interviews elsewhere like THR
