  • Matt is funny and pathetic

He loves kissing up to purely, notoriously sinister figures like Adam Fogelson when they have a hit. Evil fears evil!

  • Content is good

I’m a pop culture lover but know nothing much about the business of Hollywood so I find the content of this podcast engaging. I rarely skip an episode. However, as mentioned in other reviews the demeanour of the host Matt Belloni is oftentimes off-putting. He’s can be loud, mocking, and condescending even towards his fav guests. When debating a point he has a whinny sneering tone. Sometimes he mentions he’s excluded from events etc because he’s speaks truth to power. My impression is he’s probab... more

  • Host is a mess

He’s a total blowhard with a super annoying voice. He just yells the entire time, cuts everyone off, and is under the impression he’s the smartest person on this show, which is not the case. Why do people like this have shows with guests? It’s baffling.

  • I listen to this to hear "the other side" from someone who thinks the height of cinema is anything that stars Tom Cruise and who will always support the suits over the creatives. Insightful into that kind of pysche, and a depressing reminder that these are the public perceptions the people who actually make the movies (not just distribute because they own all the resources) are dealing with.

  • The Highlander

There can only be one. This is it. Everyone else is everyone else and can kick rocks. Matt is the best investigator in hollywood whether you like his brand or not. I do personally but also try to find him on the wrong side of anything ever. That’s pretty rare.

Hollywood’s Inevitable Pivot to Vertical Video Is Here
Q: Okay, which social platforms are likely to invest in original vertical content?
Platforms like TikTok are actively inviting creators and Hollywood producers to submit projects; other players such as RealShort and Drama Box are also commissioning vertical series, with a growing pool of buyers including Fox, NBC, Netflix, and Disney.
What Makes Good TV Writers (and Execs), With David E. Kelley
Q: Is there a platform you haven't worked with yet, or a studio you've avoided by design?
He notes he has not ruled out any platform but tends to be drawn to legacy companies and prefers choosing the best home for a project based on passion and fit rather than sticking to one company or platform.
What Makes Good TV Writers (and Execs), With David E. Kelley
Q: What has changed the most about your process since you first started creating and writing shows to now?
The core discipline remains about focusing on strong scripts and empowering the right people, but there's more collaboration and faster cycles with today's streaming landscape, which changes how quickly material moves from draft to air and how involved executives want to be in early cuts.
A Sit-Down With Blake Lively’s Lead Litigator
Q: What does the 47.1 provision accomplish for your client?
47.1 aims to hold the defendants accountable quickly and efficiently, limiting appeal rights and allowing the prevailing defendant to recover damages where appropriate, which Gottlieb argues is a powerful tool to deter retaliatory litigation.
A Sit-Down With Blake Lively’s Lead Litigator
Q: Who is Blake Lively's client in this case, and how involved was Ryan Reynolds?
The client is Blake Lively; Ryan Reynolds was named in the litigation but Gottlieb indicates he was brought in primarily as a defendant for PR reasons and that Lively is the plaintiff leading the case, with Reynolds being involved only due to the joint defendants list.
