You can see here that Hugo originally had a different epitaph, which he crossed out. It reads:

In addition to writing, Hugo could do other things with ink--here are some of his drawings, along with a bit of discussion of them.
Les Miserables is a massive book, I found this podcast very helpful and a useful resource to track where I was and where the story was going.
But bummed there aren’t new shows!
This is just a must listen if you like the book. I wish I had known about this when I attempted to read the novel as it provides the necessary instruction to fully comprehend what is going on. Strong work!
After a dive through Dumas' Three Musketeers, I felt an inkling to read Les Misérables, a novel as a Lutheran Pastor I have wanted to read for some time but have been intimidated by the sheer size of it. Les Mis has been so important to me for so long, and this podcast does a deep dive to help me understand all the bits I didn't quite get. The analysis here is eye-opening and I appreciate all the work that goes into making it.
Les Mis is an awesome and important and timeless work, but I never would have dared crack it open were it not for this helpful guidance.
Sometimes an episode would confirm my reading of a particular section. Which delighted me. Sometimes an episode helped illuminate a tough section that I only half understood, or less. That’s helped to propel me on, since I was able to garner the important meaning and not feeling lost and frustrated.
