Not everyone starts a business to become the next Steven Bartlett or Gary Vee. Millions of us start our businesses to escape the 9-5 ties to the office, toxic bosses, threat of redundancy, and chasing pay rises. We want freedom, control of our own time, and to be able to choose who we work with, where we work from, and how much we work. But what’s it really like to start and run a small business? ... more

I came across this podcast in my search for small business support.
Lea is brilliant! She’s funny, inquisitive, informative, and entertaining! I can’t wait to see where this podcast goes as she grows!
As someone running a small online business with my husband since October 2021, I’ve been desperate to find advice that truly resonates with my experience. I used to listen to many of the “big names” in the online business space, but their advice felt overly optimistic, vague, and ultimately unhelpful – not to mention hard to implement! My skepticism grew, and I was almost ready to give up on business podcasts. Then I found The HoLT’s Survival Guide for Small Businesses. This podcast is exactly w... more
Really enjoyed the first episode. The conversation was real and it completely resonated with me. So many pieces of wisdom about the challenges of running a small business in the first year and growing it fast. “You will not be in love with your business everyday, but as long as you are most days, it’s good!” When you first start in biz you can feel so alone. Only one episode in so far but I really enjoyed this honest conversation and looking forward to what comes next. I am not a business owner or entrepreneur but I took a lot from this conversation about the journey and the struggles of moving from a safe salary to going it alone. Lea Turner doing a great job hosting and candid as ever; what’s not to love!
I was looking forward to this Podcast having followed Leah on LinkedIn. Unfortunately, you can tell she is not an experienced interviewer as she talks rather too much and overshadows the guest with her own opinions. The show ends up more about her rather than the guest which is a shame. Hopefully as she gets more experienced the focus will be on the guests rather than Leah.
