In this episode I speak with my first love. We met as teenagers. He had a lot of swagger and I was smitten. As he says in the conversation, he doesn’t normally talk about his younger years, so this was a notable experience for him. (“My wife said I h... more

I admit to having a fetish for the (ultimately hopeless) attempt to find perfect understanding between two people's experiences of a relationship. Even in our closest moments, there is an unbridgeable gap; this is the itch of intimacy. Miriam's podcast makes it feel less hopeless -- even juicy. She is the perfect host and guide, acting as both one half of the couple and the couple's therapist at once, putting her ex/client at ease with her generosity of spirit, honesty, and humor. I’m a huge podcast fan, especially on the subject of relationships, and Ex Appeal is my new favorite! Miriam’s genuine fondness for her exes radiates through my AirPods, making for a truly captivating listen. Her vulnerability is truly compelling, and the warm energy she shares with her former partners is palpable.

Miriam and her guests/exes share with beauty and vulnerability and create an atmosphere of love and gratitude that is good for all of us. Enjoy!
I wanted to like this, but it’s just an excuse for the host to reminisce and lust over ex-flings through inside jokes and stories that the listener neither relates to nor cares about. I assume the positive reviews are friends
I knew that I was starved for actually hearing men emotionally process - I’m just taken aback by how much listening to just the first 2 episodes has filled my cup and given me hope. It’s tilted my perspective towards the positive as I think on my own past dating experiences. I want to date like Miriam - open to surprise, full of grounded confidence, relishing joy & remembering gratitude, even when there’s pain, too.
