  • Rebranding an existing pod feed

It’s a pet peeve of mine when shows rebrand rather than do a separate launch. By all means, post the trailer for a new show on here. I liked fallen angel and re-listen every now and again but I have no interest in this new show about aging parents, so guess I’ll be unfollowing, although I really would like to keep fallen angel around.

How You (Yes, You) Can Live a Long, Healthy Life with Dr. Majid Fotuhi
Q: For listeners with parents in mid- to late-stage dementia, what can be done to slow decline?
Prioritize comfort and quality of life, promote walking to improve brain blood flow, maintain engagement with family, and implement manageable daily routines. While reversal is unlikely, these approaches can slow progression and improve daily functioning.
How You (Yes, You) Can Live a Long, Healthy Life with Dr. Majid Fotuhi
Q: What are your thoughts on Alzheimer's drugs and their role vs. lifestyle interventions?
The newer drugs show promise but are not yet broadly effective; lifestyle interventions remain the primary tool for prevention and management, and in the long term, a combination of medications and lifestyle changes will likely be needed to address dementia.
How You (Yes, You) Can Live a Long, Healthy Life with Dr. Majid Fotuhi
Q: What are the five pillars of brain health and how do they work together?
The five pillars are exercise, sleep, diet, stress management, and brain training. Each pillar individually supports blood flow, reduces inflammation, and promotes neural activity; together they create a synergistic effect that can reverse or slow brain aging, improve memory, and reduce dementia risk.
How You (Yes, You) Can Live a Long, Healthy Life with Dr. Majid Fotuhi
Q: What is the difference between normal aging, mild cognitive impairment, and dementia?
Normal aging can include occasional memory slips, but mild cognitive impairment marks a stage where memory issues are more pronounced and can affect daily activity, while dementia represents a loss of independence and more significant functional decline. Early recognition allows targeted interventions to slow progression.
Soap Operas and Aging with Mal Young
Q: How was her relationship with her kids play out on The Young and the Restless?
I wanted to reflect the denial and coping mechanisms families experience with aging parents, which is similar to my real-life experiences.
