I've only listened to the introductory episode but Dan + Janice have a really funny dynamic! I saw them give a presentation at IMSH in Orlando in January of 2017 and they we're funny and really informative. I learned a lot about the field of medical simulation listening to them. If you're interested in healthcare, check this out! It's the future of medical training.

Just Tell Your Learners What to Do! (with Mary Fey) | Curious Now 31
Q: How do you know when to coach rather than teach in a given moment?
I assess the task complexity, the learner's current capabilities, and whether breaking down sub-skills and guiding step-by-step will reduce cognitive load and prevent errors, especially for complex, multi-part motions.
Just Tell Your Learners What to Do! (with Mary Fey) | Curious Now 31
Q: Mary, what do you do to authorize yourself to step into a coaching role with credibility?
I rely on a basic assumption that the learner wants to improve, which gives me an ethical obligation to help them get better through direct guidance, clear expectations, and transparent communication about the coaching relationship.
Debriefing Universal Clinical Struggles (with Bridget Van Gotten) | Curious Now #23
Q: What challenges have you experienced?
Understanding different processing times in classroom management can highlight disparities in learner engagement and fairness.
Debriefing Universal Clinical Struggles (with Bridget Van Gotten) | Curious Now #23
Q: Can you talk to me a little bit about what you discovered there?
It was an incorrect assumption that a medical student wouldn't describe what it feels like to stand at the foot of the bed and lead a team.
Book Club Ep. 012: Tribal Leadership: Leveraging Natural Groups to Build a Thriving Organization
Q: How do we change ways of talking or interacting that support mutual support?
Making the act of providing mutual support deliberate and recognizing its importance can help shift the culture towards mutual support.
