Anaphylaxis is one of those conditions we think we have got pretty well sorted. Recognise it early, give adrenaline, support the airway and circulation, and crack on. And in fairness, for the vast majority of patients, that approach works really well... more

  • pulseless cardiac arrest

How I ended up listening to this I have no idea but as a scientifically literate listener from a wildly different field who also deals with the idea and practice of first responder actions in wilderness settings idea that a) manual pulse checks are ‘of variable reliability’ and secondly b) that not all pulseless patients may lie in one cohort is fascinating

  • One of if not the best Pre Hospital pod casts

As a paramedic being a jack of all trades working in the pre hospital setting I love this pod cast.

The relationship between the guys makes it fun to listen to and extremely educational from very respected clinicians, and them speaking from experience and also knowing they themselves have to brush up on certain things or have varying experiences of things is very real and validating as a clinician.

The fact we have the resource free is amazing, thank you Zoll too!

  • Digging up pearls

One of the most outstanding podcasts in pre-hospital and in-hospital critical care. It excels not only in quality but also in breadth—covering everything from dispatch to definitive care—and in depth, blending lived experience with the latest evidence-based practice. From leading experts to anyone eager to improve their delivery of care, it consistently uncovers pearls of wisdom for us all. The episodes are also the perfect length for my commute to my HEMS job in Surrey, Sussex and Kent. Many th... more

  • My favourite podcast

As a paramedic, learning about best practice management and EBM in the ER in addition to the pre-hospital environment is advantageous. The presenters are humble and pragmatic and their witty banter has me smiling in my response car on my long trips in remote WA.

Many pre-hospital and EM podcast hosts are American or Canadian, I find the UK accents to be more easy listening.

I find myself “hanging out” for the release of the next episode, having listened to every episode since 2017 (some more tha... more

Maternal Arrest; Roadside to Resus
Q: How does maternal arrest impact neonatal outcomes?
Neonates can have favorable outcomes even after prolonged maternal arrest, with some surviving despite the challenges of resuscitative hysterotomy.
Maternal Arrest; Roadside to Resus
Q: What are the critical modifications needed in advanced life support for pregnant patients in cardiac arrest?
Key modifications include manual uterine displacement, continued high-quality CPR, and the potential use of resuscitative hysterotomy, especially if there's no return of circulation after a certain time.
