This is the only podcast I’ve ever listened to where I loved it so much I considered getting a tattoo inspired by the show. I didn’t, because tattoos cost money, but I’m still considering it.
The show is funny, informative, and you can tell that the hosts really get along outside of the show and put a lot of love and effort into every episode. And the reverence and love for the source material is evident seconds into each episode.
These gals welcome one and all into their insightful, cozy world of nostalgia, offering up such a fun book club hang (minus any shame about not reading the book). Their spirited readings and unique historical retrospectives delight my senses and banish ennui!
Not only do I like reading the books Alison and Jody talk about, I love tuning in to see their take on the story and learning a bit more when they go on “deep dives” into various cultural topics that might strike them. A fun, casual, conversation with two friends in podcastland. Thanks for your dedication, ladies!
What makes an enjoyable podcast is the interaction of the hosts, and these two are so fun. I love listening to the summaries and commentary on the books they read.
Their love for Judy Blume comes through and even when they point out problematic elements in books, it’s always from a good place. They don’t takes themselves too seriously. A perfect balance of fun and thoughtful.
I just wanted to say how much I love listening to the Blume Saloon podcast!! Jody and Alison take you on a wonderful excursion to Judy Blume Land where we are delighted to hear about what it was like to live in the 1970s an 1980s. You can literally breath in the herbal essence scent as you’re taken back to a simpler time. I love hearing the original 1970s or 1980s commercials! Where on earth do you both find these gems?? I’d love to have a podcast that consists of all those wonderful commercials... more
