Ladies - when you go to make a “poignant” statement, please do NOT drop the volume of your voice. We can NOT hear you. Again please do NOT drop your voice.

  • Enjoyable when it’s new content

Ok I love both girls but I don’t know if I quite enjoy the pod as much as I used to. I’ve been listening since the beginning and still love to put on an episode when I’m at the gym, doing laundry etc. It’s just the way the content has changed for me like the Gilmore to say episodes used to be longer and more focused on the actual topics. I just loved the engagement with the audience and it feels just not as much a priority. Personally I prefer to listen to new original episodes rather than Gilm... more

The person who says “um” does not read reviews either, so how seriously do these girls consider feedback if committed to improving their skills? However, I have noticed less use of this filler word of late, so maybe they’ve reevaluated thei... more

  • Great perspectives, very chatty

I love the two hosts’ opinions and rapport! I’ve listened to all of the episodes twice through and am on my third relisten.

One gripe I have is that Tara talks so much when they have a guest on! Let the guest talk more!

Fix the audio! The ads are SO MUCH LOUDER than the podcast. Also Tara’s audio is louder than Haley’s for the first few seasons

  • Love these girlies!

This is my favorite podcast. I love that Tara and Haley always find something more to say about this show. Their merch is also the CUTEST! I hope they make many more episodes!

Update: love the recent episode “he’s my Dean”. Please make more episodes of the pod where you go in depth on specific scenes. 💕

Gilmore To Read: Emma Brodie's Ode To The 2000s
Q: What is your day-to-day writing routine given you also have a full-time editing job?
There isn't a strict daily routine. I work around meetings and try to write when energy allows, often in blocks of four to five hours at a time, balancing drafting with editing. Morning pages and walks are part of the health routine, but schedules vary day to day depending on work commitments and life.
Gilmore To Read: Emma Brodie's Ode To The 2000s
Q: How do you balance world-building elements like articles, dailies, and scripts within a romance novel to keep it engaging without overwhelming the reader?
I write the story first and insert world-building placeholders. Then I populate those with specifics—songs, articles, scripts—only as needed to enhance the world and the reader's immersion. If a detail doesn't serve the narrative or reader experience, it doesn't stay. It's about trusting the reader and keeping a tight focus on character and emotional payoff.
Gilmore To Read: Emma Brodie's Ode To The 2000s
Q: What made you want to start Into The Blue with a prologue set in 2013 before jumping back to 2000?
The prologue was about establishing stakes and showing how far the characters have come, while also signaling the emotional weight of where their story will go. The choice to begin with a future moment was deliberate to hook readers and then pull them back into the present journey, highlighting the book's long arc and the consequences of choices.
Gilmore To Read: Lynn Painter Is First & Forever A Jess Girl
Q: Which trope would you write forever if you could choose?
Fake dating remains a favorite because it offers endless ways to spin dynamics, humor, and emotional payoff while staying grounded in a believable, playful setup.
Gilmore To Read: Lynn Painter Is First & Forever A Jess Girl
Q: What do you think makes Gilmore Girls' vibe so influential on your writing?
Lynn says Gilmore Girls' banter, small-town atmosphere, and the warmth of family dynamics are the core elements she loves to weave into her romance novels, making them comforting yet emotionally resonant.
