Frooooom my couch in my flat in Leeds, it is… a five star review for The Banner Baseball Show! (Improv something about how wonderful the north of England is.) Since moving to the UK from Delmarva, this podcast is my favourite way of keeping up with my beloved Birds. Paul & Jon provide brilliant insight that I just don’t get this side of the pond, and the Fast & Furious reviews are great too. I’ll be going home for a couple games this July, let’s hope they’re still playing this well then. Paul, I... more
This show really creates a conversation that is different from other Orioles offerings. They do this by featuring friendly banter mixed with solid analysis and insider nuggets. What isn’t there is a retired athlete or a meaningless segment with a member of the current roster. Reporters are smarter than players and this just eliminates the stereotypical jock talk for serious analysis.
Let me tell you something about the Banner Baseball Boyz: they shop at Marshall’s, which is to say they know a lot about good deals. And a free podcast that regularly dives deep into the happenings of the Baltimore Orioles? Buddy, that’s a heck of a deal.
This is one of my “go to” Orioles related podcasts that I listen to. It’s reasonable, light, and to a certain extent mirrors the rhythm and nuances of the baseball season with good interplay amongst the guests, who are knowledgeable journalists in an era journalism isn’t what it once was.
I continued to love this show and you guys do a great job. Quick question, is Pete Alonso a huge bust? His bat is slow and appears unable to hit a fastball anymore.
