  • Great Conversations!

Tim is a great interviewer and host! His conversations with his guests are always interesting and are always the perfect length: never too long and never too short. Some similarly formatted interview shows feel like they ramble, go on too long or the interesting content ebbs and flows. Not with Teachers on Fire. It's all 🔥.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

AI Literacy and Design Thinking - with Alex Gray
Q: How does design thinking prepare secondary students for a technology-driven future?
By guiding students through empathizing with users, defining problems, ideating with AI assistance, prototyping, and testing; it emphasizes process, literacy, and resilience, not just final outputs.
AI Literacy and Design Thinking - with Alex Gray
Q: What is the single most dangerous misconception schools have about AI right now?
The tool itself is not the problem; the real issue lies in learning culture, safeguarding, and leadership. Start with what thinking you want to enable and what problems AI should help solve, not which platform to buy.
AI Literacy and Design Thinking - with Alex Gray
Q: Is AI literacy important for K-12 students and how can teachers integrate it without increasing workloads?
Yes, it's important; the why and how matter. Focus on training teachers first so they can guide students effectively, and implement small, iterative tasks that support thinking and differentiation rather than a full-scale overhaul.
Better Questions, Deeper Learning - with Connie Hamilton
Q: How can leaders and coaches provide feedback without overburdening teachers?
Feedback should be specific and tied to clearly defined goals. By focusing on microdata points (like who participates, how they contribute, and wait time) and linking feedback to tangible next steps, coaches can support teachers without adding unnecessary workload.
Better Questions, Deeper Learning - with Connie Hamilton
Q: What are the most telling signs in a classroom that there is a genuine culture of curiosity and inquiry?
Connie emphasizes that high-quality, content-relevant questions from students themselves signal curiosity. When questions shift from check-for-understanding to launching into divergent thinking and wonder, it shows a thriving culture where students pursue inquiry rather than seeking the right answer alone.
