  • WOKE and Wobbly

Definitely in the woke, weak and wobbly category. Preared by the teenagers at the ABC who want to over-representi minorities such as our Indigenous cousins. Part of the ABC’s Victim Radio mentality.

  • Did you really use the term Aborigines

In an episode about raising the age, one of your guest uses a slur against Aboriginal/first nation people. Absolutely disgusted at the lack of consideration and lack of education. If I could give no stars I would. Do better.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Reforming mainstream perceptions of the education system
Q: Why did you move from leading a school to founding an institute?
After achieving significant local success and recognizing the potential to scale those benefits nationally, the institute was created to formalize and package the learnings so they could be implemented in other communities and sectors, beyond one school.
Reforming mainstream perceptions of the education system
Q: What were the core elements of the Stronger Smarter philosophy?
The core elements were creating a school culture that nurtures cultural identity, embracing positive community leadership, high expectations relationships, and innovative, out-of-the-box approaches to school modeling and staffing, all designed to sustain success across diverse local contexts.
The Power Of Lived Experience On The Page
Q: What essential ingredients make ALS culturally and legally effective today?
Community control, grassroots origins, and a culture that treats workers and clients as family, with a focus on services that go beyond courts and support education and empowerment within communities.
The Power Of Lived Experience On The Page
Q: What inspired the title Defending the Defenceless and what does it mean to you?
The title reflects the work of Aboriginal Legal Services born from community need, not a royal commission, emphasizing defense and advocacy for Indigenous people against injustices within the justice system.
Protecting First Nations peoples right to protest
Q: I was just wondering whether you had any thoughts on that right balance between public safety and police accountability. That's the real tension, isn't it?
The tension exists, but safety is not solely the purview of police; communities thrive when they are healthy and protected from violence, and this requires accountable policing and restraint, with necessary and proportionate restrictions when protests occur.
