  • Soothing for the current time we live in

A balm for the soul at this time. The people and guests on the show are bringing awareness to the global issues and those in our backyard. I am glad I fell into this while scrolling for peace. Was fed up of the American style which is more commercial and material. I needed to shed that and get back to simplicity. This podcast has restored my faith in humanity and the ability to find a path and guide forward. Well done ABC.

  • And all will be well...

Just listened to the fascinating and poignant episode about Julian of Norwich. Her famous words "and all will be well" resonated with me in these very tumultuous times. I agree that many of the systems in our societies force us to move too quickly -- there is little time to stop and breath, contemplate or think. So how on earth can we hope to change for the better?

I find comfort in Julian's famous words because, similar to looking up at a star lit sky on a quiet summer night, I see the beauty... more

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

"We will always choose Earth" — Spiritual ecology in an age of crisis
Q: What has been the fruit of cultivating awareness through breath and presence, both for you personally and in inviting others to engage?
Breath-based practice deepens perception, opens the heart, and makes us feel more connected to the living Earth; over time this shifts how we listen, how we see, and how we act, enabling a more compassionate relationship with landscapes whether wild or urban.
"We will always choose Earth" — Spiritual ecology in an age of crisis
Q: Emmanuel, let's talk about the way you suggest this spiritual ecology could be embodied and embraced in lived experience. Why start with the breath?
The breath is the primal gateway that connects us to life, to spirit, and to the space around us; by bringing attention to the breath while moving through a landscape, we become present, porous, and more deeply connected to Earth, which can catalyze a broader, embodied practice of spiritual ecology.
What does pilgrimage look like today?
Q: What is Hajj and why is it considered the final pillar of Islam?
Hajj is the fifth pillar performed at least once in a Muslim's lifetime if affordable, symbolizing submission to God and unity with the global Muslim community, with specific rituals that trace Abrahamic founder narratives and emphasize shared devotion.
Why did an atheist spend a year as a secular priest?
Q: Why did you, an atheist, want to give your attention to religion?
To explore what secular society might be missing and to see what religion could contribute to human life beyond dogma, with a focus on humility, community, and a sense of shared responsibility.
Active body, active soul — encountering the spiritual side of sports
Q: What does the role of a sports chaplain look like in practice, and why do clubs want them?
Chaplains provide care and support within clubs, help foster a culture of well-being and community, and offer a bridge to religious or spiritual guidance without pressuring belief, addressing issues clubs aren't equipped to handle.
