Fiona and Marlene run an incredibly varied show related to Scottish independence, with expert speakers on different topics, explorations of history, visits to events, and so on. It’s amazing how much territory these two cover and how well they do it.
Really enjoyed the main interview in this episode with three Scottish CND activists. It marks the first anniversary of the UN Nuclear Weapons Prohibition Treaty. And wow, what an example of two campaigns reinforcing each other: an independent Scotland would certainly become signature to TPNW and the TPNW would certainly provide support to Scotland’s negotiations to get rid of Trident. And who knows what that would mean for the UK’s nuclear arsenal.
Really enjoying the fresh, topical content from this podcast! Learning lots about Scottish culture and politics, economics, history, and all very entertaining and engaging.
I realise these reviews are primarily for the podcast as a whole and I will admit some parts of it I don't bother with. (not a fan of poetry for instance). But I utterly utterly love Stuart McHardy's Radical look at Scottish History. I would live this to be a more detailed and stand alone podcast. Highly recommended and a must listen for anyone with an interest in Scotlands past.
This is the history we all should have been taught at school, engaging and linked to the modern day experience, it’s a must listen for all those interested in where we Scots came from and perhaps where we are going
