Q: So we've talked about the project. Can you give me a bit of context on how it came about?
The team started from discussions around the IPC Champions project, then refined ideas into a feasible quality improvement effort focused on reducing cubital fossa cannula-related bacteremias, with a goal to prevent cannulas being placed or left in too long.

Q: And I'm wondering, what advice would you give to juniors who are just starting their medical career?
Seek out opportunities to get involved in quality improvement, take those chances when they arise, learn from the process, and try not to be intimidated by the hierarchical structure; building broad relationships with Allied Health and other teams significantly enhances both the experience and career perspectives.
