  • Always inspiring

Currently a CoS, I spent many years as an EA and before that Office Manager, Project Manager, and other roles that straddle the administrative/leadership space. I love this podcast because it acknowledges and elevates these fields as careers unto themselves, not automatically fields people are trying to “work out of”. I always find myself inspired when listening.

  • S6 E1: A thoughtful, global conversation on growth, cultural nuance, and the evolving EA role.

This episode is a standout. Host Jessica Vann asks deeply insightful questions that open the door to an honest, layered conversation with Karima Thomson about what it really takes to thrive as an Executive Assistant across cultures and continents.

Karima’s reflections on working in the Middle East—from embracing hierarchy and cultural etiquette to the importance of in-person connection—are both practical and inspiring. Her journey from initially being hesitant to drive in the UAE to confidently... more

  • Everything an EA needs for career success!

THIS PODCAST IS PHENOMENAL!! Last month I returned to work as a corporate EA. I’ve been away from the industry for a while, so I thought I’d find a good podcast to catch up with the changes.

I did a simple search in the Apple Podcast app for “Executive Assistant”. REACH was in the #1 spot. I tapped it and I’ve never looked back!

Jessica is a fantastic host and the guest are giving me a lot more than I ever expected. Rather than just giving tips on how to manage a calendar, they’re giving acti... more

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Operating in the Gray with Nicky Christmas at the EA Campus: How Elite EAs Make Decisions Without Permission
Q: How do EAs balance confidence with the need to seek permission, and what practices help in decision-making without slowing things down?
Confidence grows like a muscle through small, incremental steps, building context about the executive and organization, setting clear expectations, observing prioritize/push-back, and knowing when to escalate; use clear ownership areas and a communication plan to keep decisions moving.
Operating in the Gray with Nicky Christmas at the EA Campus: How Elite EAs Make Decisions Without Permission
Q: Walk us through your career journey and how you formed EA Campus.
Nicky describes starting as an EA in 2003, working across industries in London, building a blog that grew into Practically Perfect PA, which evolved into EA Campus; the focus has been on empowering EAs to act as strategic partners and to build confidence.
From Supporting Simon Sinek to Supporting in the Era of AI: The Future of Executive Support, Human Judgment and Communication
Q: Why is nailing communication such an important piece, and where do you see breakdowns most often?
Communication is the mechanism by which EAs transfer information, align on outcomes, and coordinate with executives; breakdowns happen when meetings are canceled or when tone, context, and clear next steps are missing, leading to misalignment.
From Music to Michelin Stars: The Art and Logistics of Supporting Culinary Visionary René Redzepi
Q: What has your role taught you about vision and leadership?
Always question and create structure around yourself to enable creativity.
From the C-Suite’s Right Hand to Executive Coach: Guiding Growth-Stage CEOs Through Scaling and Change
Q: When a CEO or founder is unsure about if they're going to continue in their role as the company grows, how do you help them explore their options?
What I do is I'm able to talk candidly about many different paths and what they look like and how I think that individual would thrive in any of those paths.
