  • Edit for 2025

Edit for 2025: you guys are good dudes who put on a good show…but plz stop talking about general business guidance stuff. We don’t need to hear about bookkeeping or hiring, that could apply to any small business.

Focus on things that are only specific to our industry and try to stay away from a “business coach” or “self help” type of vibe.

You guys have also been spending a lot of time talking about your personal health and wellness stuff, and while we love you…no one cares to hear about tha... more

32: Lee Stuart on What He'd Change: Hiring, Mental Health, and Life Past $1M
Q: How do you balance growth of two separate business lines while maintaining quality?
He describes systemizing and automating processes so that the transfer business can run largely on its own, allowing him to focus on scale and marketing while maintaining a high standard for main production.
32: Lee Stuart on What He'd Change: Hiring, Mental Health, and Life Past $1M
Q: What is your approach to documenting procedures and making them accessible?

32: Lee Stuart on What He'd Change: Hiring, Mental Health, and Life Past $1M
Q: How did you approach the very first hire, and what was the catalyst for scale?
The guest explains that he went all in on hiring, bringing someone full-time early because the shop was already generating enough revenue to sustain it; subsequent hires followed quickly as friction in workflows increased, making expansion appear necessary rather than optional.
How to Turn Your Order Taker Into a $1M/Year Sales Machine
Q: What keeps referrals effective, and when is the best time to ask for them?
Be specific in who you're asking for, and leverage moments like the honeymoon phase after a successful order; provide ready-to-send referral language to make the ask easy for the client to pass along.
How to Turn Your Order Taker Into a $1M/Year Sales Machine
Q: How should a shop structure incentives for account managers to drive growth?
Incentives should be based on book of business growth and not solely on revenue from current orders; quarterly bonuses or team-based incentives aligned with growth encourage proactive outreach without rewarding passivity.
