私が人の病院で理学療法士として働く中で、
なぜ動物のリハビリの世界に進もうと思ったのか、

私が獣医療に関わる前、人の病院で理学療法士として働いていた頃の経験についてお話しします。
人の理学療法士は、どんな視点で患者さんと向き合い、

日常生活では元気に見える犬でも、
実際に体を見てみると、
腰や膝、神経の影響など、
すでに不調のサインが出ていることがあります。

「同じ練習でも結果が変わる ― 動物との関わり方の話」です。
動物のリハビリでは、
同じ運動や練習をしていても、
関わり方や促し方によって、
引き出せる動きが大きく変わることがあります。
言葉で説明できないからこそ、
距離感や立ち位置、声のかけ方、
タイミングといった要素が、とても重要になります。
