  • Helpful but niche

Some really interesting and helpful interviews! I do feel like it’s so very specific that the content tends to be a bit repetitive. Also, the opening sound bites need to be edited way shorter and the music layered over it needs to be reduced a lot—it’s a really annoying jumble of sounds to start out with. Otherwise the host has a pleasant voice and delivery.

  • A must for competitive athletes

Best recommendation I’ve ever gotten for my athletes. We’re only 3 in and it is such eye opening info for both myself as a supporting role and for helping my kids to understand the mind connection in their training and performance. So grateful for this!

The Power of Not Caring What People Think with Myia Hambrick
Q: What does success look like for you and your athletes beyond medals?
Success is looking back on a competition or career and feeling that you had fun, were yourself the whole time, and gave your best effort, with medals as a potential outcome but not the defining measure.
The Power of Not Caring What People Think with Myia Hambrick
Q: How do you balance being yourself as a coach while still pushing athletes to improve?
She emphasizes building authentic relationships, communicating honestly, and tailoring feedback to each athlete's needs, ensuring corrections feel constructive rather than punitive and maintaining a fun, supportive atmosphere.
The Power of Not Caring What People Think with Myia Hambrick
Q: Looking back, what is the key to not caring what people think and how has that contributed to your confidence?
Myia explains that a supportive family environment that validates diverse interests helps athletes feel secure in their choices, so they don't base their identity on gymnastics alone; this foundation makes it easier to stay authentic and confident.
Competing Free, Even Under Pressure with Sloane Blakely
Q: What did gymnastics give you that can never be taken away?
Discipline is the core, a quality that stays with you beyond sport and lasts throughout life, and it remains a constant foundational trait that you can rely on in any pursuit.
Rethinking How We Build Great Gymnasts with Julie Ballard Clark
Q: What part of your journey shaped you the most as a human being?
The daily opportunities to do what I loved, even on hard days, and the shift to a positive training environment that emphasized learning, growth, and enjoyment over just winning.
