I owe everything to the mentors who helped me in my career and academic journey. I take away little pieces of info and advice from each episode. This is a great podcast!

  • Right?

No exaggeration, the host says the word “right?” about 200 times per episode and becomes much more of a distraction than anything and pulls away from the stories at hand. I wish the editors would take out half of the “rights” so people like me can continue to listen to some incredible stories.

Am I pretty enough?
Q: I'm in an acting class with peers who are much younger; I feel behind. How can I handle this insecurity?
Focus on the journey and your unique timing, accept where you are, and pursue big, long-term goals without tying progress to others' ages or timelines.
Am I pretty enough?
Q: I keep lying to others, even when I think I'm not; how can I change this habit?
Introduce a deliberate pause before responding, assess whether what you're about to say is true, and gradually replace lying with truthful, mindful communication without labeling yourself as bad.
Am I pretty enough?
Q: I want to be a TikToker, but I think I'm too ugly to be the dream TikToker I admire.
The host reframes beauty as non-limiting and encourages taking action by posting content, arguing that success is driven by how others respond, not by a self-imposed standard of 'pretty.'
MOLLY SEIDEL: How to be there for yourself
Q: What role did mentorship and friendship play in her journey?
Mentorship and friendship provided honest feedback, accountability, and emotional support. A close friend's directness helped her see when she was slipping into old patterns, and the relationship offered space to grow without judgment, reinforcing that true mentorship can also be a personal, non-professional bond that sustains you through highs and lows.
MOLLY SEIDEL: How to be there for yourself
Q: How did Molly get to a place where she could be there for herself when times were tough?
She describes the long, painful process of rebuilding after the post-Olympics dip, recognizing that rapid, foundation-less success left her vulnerable. Through heartbreak, a difficult breakup, and a shift toward more sustainable goals like trail running, she learned to trust the process, build a supportive inner life, and rely on a trusted circle to keep her grounded.
