I enjoyed this podcast very much. The episodes are organized, informative and easy to listen to. Thank you, James and Scott.
Well-researched though most subjects are covered at a high level only, which is to be expected for a relatively short podcast. James makes the show - he knows his stuff and has an easy, conversational way of presenting. Scott tries but is not always accurate. This is the guy who on another podcast pronounced the 1862 battle as “Anti-ET-em,” so…
Definitely enjoying it. However, the first episode has some very flimsy opinions on why poor whites in the south fought. It was not because they wanted to preserve slavery so they weren’t the bottom rung of the social ladder and it wasn’t because “someday” they might get to own their own slave. Only like 1-2% of southern whites owned slaves and it had been in existence for over 100 years.
