  • On balance ...

Andrew has some obvious flaws but many , many strengths (depth-of-knowledge, style, clear-speaking, engaging ...).

On balance a clear benefit to the podcasting world.

    Keep up the great work.

  • Great…but Mr Keen should learn to listen more.

Great guests, interesting questions, however Mr Keen should learn to listen and let his guests finish their sentences. He compulsively interrupts his guest, it’s distracting.

Nonetheless a great show, wide ranging subjects, and great guests.

Bonus, the “That Was The Week”, episodes with Mr Keith Teare are some of the best tech overviews in podcastland.

  • Arrogant

I have been listening to keen on for a while and some guests are great. The host is the ultimate know it all bit asked some good questions. However the most recent episode on surviving Auschwitz the guest refers to witnessing a suicide of a 2 year old who entered the water knowing they couldn’t swim and drowned. Andrew Keen agreed. This is so deeply deeply offensive and wrong. How dare he. For anyone who has lost a while this is such an absurd and cruel opinion. Disgraceful. Immediate unfollow. ... more

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Was St. Francis of Assisi the First Silicon Valley Critic? Dan Turello on 800-Years of Tech Anxiety
Q: Dan, has technology made you a better human?
It depends on how you use it and the attitude you bring; technology can expand agency and presence if engaged consciously, otherwise it can distance us from embodied experience.
A Willing Philadelphia Story: Richard Vague on the Wealthiest & Most Invisible American Founding Father
Q: What happened to the debt jubilee idea you discussed earlier?
Richard explains that the debt jubilee remained controversial and only partial progress was made, but it's still viewed as an important idea that may need to be adopted in some form by Western economies in the future.
Nature's Last Dance: Natalie Kyriacou on Ecocide, Oiled Penguins, and Why We Need to Watch the Birds
Q: What role do renewables, like solar and wind, play in addressing ecocidal dynamics without compromising biodiversity?
Renewables are essential but must be pursued with careful attention to biodiversity and ecosystem protections, avoiding shortcuts and ensuring that expansion does not come at the expense of habitat and species.
Nature's Last Dance: Natalie Kyriacou on Ecocide, Oiled Penguins, and Why We Need to Watch the Birds
Q: In Nature's Last Dance, is America dancing or is it already moving away from environmental leadership?
America is shown as part of a broader, systemic trend where leadership has often been inconsistent, revealing a decayed system rather than a single country's failure, while highlighting opportunities to rebuild through renewed commitment and collaboration.
Symbolic Capitalism vs. Symbolic Democracy: Will the $10 Trillion AI Startup Change Everything?
Q: Why do markets sometimes trade private AI assets at three times their net asset value?
Because investors anticipate substantial future revenue and scalability, creating a premium that reflects expected growth and the market's confidence in AI-led disruption.
