  • Smacking

All i heard was the smacking of that woman. So annoying and distracting. Bloody hell

  • June has a very strong accent

Hard to hear and understand most times for me, which was quite frustrating as I think the story is interesting. I abandoned this halfway. Perhaps a better way to do this is for the journalist or actor to voice June, and have June speak in small snippets at beginning or end or bonus episode

  • A heartfelt story

I felt like I really got to know June and Jennifer through June’s insightful conversations about her life. Where there still could be bitterness and contempt, I felt just two women trying to understand a cruel world who didn’t try to understand them and wanting to make the most of their lives. Someone who has endured so much pain in her life and is grateful to be alive and enjoying their life is so inspiring.

  • Fascinating

I’ve read about the sisters before but it’s amazing to have June herself talk about her and Jennifer’s lives. Thank you.

I did find it difficult to understand June when I first tried listening on a (not great) speaker in a room but once I switched to earbuds I had no further problem.

I hope that she continues to write.

This is so kindly and respectfully done and exposes the truth of what happened to these poor girls. How different their lives may have been had they had the correct diagnosis and support early on in life. As someone who had selective mutism as a child and a non speaking autistic son this story really struck a chord with me. I think today they would have been diagnosed with autism... more
