I felt like I really got to know June and Jennifer through June’s insightful conversations about her life. Where there still could be bitterness and contempt, I felt just two women trying to understand a cruel world who didn’t try to understand them and wanting to make the most of their lives. Someone who has endured so much pain in her life and is grateful to be alive and enjoying their life is so inspiring.
I’ve read about the sisters before but it’s amazing to have June herself talk about her and Jennifer’s lives. Thank you.
I did find it difficult to understand June when I first tried listening on a (not great) speaker in a room but once I switched to earbuds I had no further problem.
I hope that she continues to write.

As a child we had the 80s film “The Silent Twins” on VHS. The story was completely haunting. For me this podcast comes full circle. I have always wondered what happened to the twins and why. This podcast finally tells the story from June Gibbons point of view. What is brilliant about the podcast is hearing June’s actual voice. That makes it so powerful. The twins are literally silent no more. The story is heartbreaking and all those years locked up in Broadmoor with dangerous psychopaths makes n... more
This was really fascinating. To hear June talking about the experiences from her own point of you and the dynamic between sisters, who couldn’t live without each other but wanted to kill each other when together, how they shut themselves off to the world… truly interesting.
