The chemistry between Laura and Sarah is interesting and good fun, and I love the way they always collect the most fascinating details, back stories, connections, etc. The podcast is so well-rounded and satisfying, but I wish it were a weekly event: waiting for the next episode is hard!
I’ve tried to stick with this podcast, but it’s so poorly researched, so boring and lacks talent in narrating these stories. It’s more like these gals love to talk to each other and forget they are making a podcast. So many other true crime podcasts available, I’d skip this one.
An intellectual and serious approach to true crime storytelling. Laura and Sarah provide critical insight and keen analysis of criminal perpetrators (sans sensationalism or sardonicism) and extend compassion and deference to victims. One of the absolute best in the true crime podcast genre.
This review is based on the Christa Worthington episode, a case that I have followed for a long time.
Explaining the story, background, and history of the case was great. The problem began with the lawyer’s insistence with talking over the private investigator. The PI had some good points, but the lawyer refused to see that or let her finish before interrupting again and again because she disagreed and couldn’t see her partners point of view.
Insightful analysis going beyond "just the facts." Sarah and Laura take the time to explore the confluence of facts that inevitably have lead to tragedy. For example: recent episodes include a defense attorney commenting on his views of the legal realities of the case and in another episode a member of the press who covered the case. Well worth the listen.
