i really enjoyed the first few seasons of bone valley and was super excited to listen to season 5! and then i realised that you have to pay for a subscription now to listen to it. really poor choice. i won’t be listening further.
Seasons 1-4 were awesome! The narrator’s story telling was masterful and instilled real empathy for the wrongly accused. The narrator for season 5 is just awful! He’s a smug social justice warrior and I can’t stand the injection of political ideology into the story. Whoever decided THIS guy would be good for the Bone Valley podcast needs to have their head examined! Not listening to another word of this garbage. Will wait and see what season 6 brings.
The writing is impeccable; story lines are enthralling; the podcasters are the best story tellers. Gilbert King and crew are amazing
Amazing and horrific! I love his voice and storytelling.
I just finished season 3 and loved how well the story was told. The hosts showed compassion and empathy. I teared up several times while listening. Now I pray that Quincy will finally get out and get to bee with his dad. Good job!

Long-form investigative storytelling with a focus on justice system failures and wrongful convictions. Episodes explore complex cases through archival narration, courtroom credibility, and personal testimonies, often weaving family impact with systemic critique. Production emphasizes rigorous reporting, multidisciplinary voices, and a mission to illuminate truth beyond official narratives, making it a compelling fit for listeners who want deep dives into how justice is pursued and sometimes corrected. A notable strength is its sustained, documentary-style approach across seasons, featuring journalists, lawyers, filmmakers, and family members who bring both evidence-driven analysis and human perspectives to hard-hitting cases.
