  • Cheatham

Whitney Cheatham may have been providing Ketamine infusions for depression. There are several clinics in the Houston, TX area that do this. Not saying it’s right, or that she had a doctor’s supervision, but that’s what I thought of when I heard Pam mention Ketamine. Love the show & both of you ladies!

  • Really?

Candice Owen’s? I guess I misjudged this podcast. The fact that you listened to her and didn’t find her problematic tells me all I need to know.

  • Top notch reporting

Barrows and Hill compliment each other as they report cases that are most interesting, complicated, and just intriguing. I love the background given for listeners who need more. And I love the humor Hill provides as she shares more info on the facts and events of the podcast. They are indeed a dynamic duo & I am enjoying listening to these podcasts on my summers off from teaching!

  • Great reporting

I came across this podcast and really love the reporting. I don’t live in Gulf Breeze anymore but did so from 2003-2006, where I worked alongside Sharon A at HNMS. She was a fantastic teacher and friend. Thank you for always sharing her sorry to keep her memory alive. ❤️

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Dr. Thomas Shaknovsky charged with manslaughter for removing man's liver instead of spleen
Q: Why did it take so long to pursue criminal charges, and what were the challenges in finding expert witnesses?
Experts were difficult to secure to testify against a fellow doctor in a high-stakes case, causing delays; the process hinged on obtaining credible testimony to establish gross negligence for grand jury consideration.
Dr. Thomas Shaknovsky charged with manslaughter for removing man's liver instead of spleen
Q: Tell us about the charges that Dr. Shaknovsky is facing and what this means for his criminal case and possibly the civil case as well.
The doctor faces a second-degree manslaughter charge (culpable negligence), signaling a criminal reckoning that could also impact civil actions; the discussion explores how criminal accountability can influence licensure and future practice.
New to murder: Christian Ketchup accused of killing Tierra Binion in cold blood; Victim’s sister is her voice
Q: Has that been a bit of an uphill battle for you, just dealing with people's incorrect perceptions of what happened?
Absolutely, it is a part of something so big and when your family is involved, it hard to deal with their perceptions.
New to murder: Christian Ketchup accused of killing Tierra Binion in cold blood; Victim’s sister is her voice
Q: Can you tell us a little bit about what you know of what happened that night?
It was one of the most hate-based crimes that the investigator had ever witnessed because it was unnecessary.
New to murder: Christian Ketchup accused of killing Tierra Binion in cold blood; Victim’s sister is her voice
Q: Why do you feel like it's necessary to advocate for her? Do you not trust the system?
I think it's been very apparent that because she doesn't have a voice, someone has to be.
