Alright, Brown people, this podcast is not for us.
I started noticing subtle bias throughout the episodes, but one case really confirmed it for me. When the victim was a blonde-haired, blue-eyed white woman, the host spent several minutes talking about how beautiful, perfect, and special she was. But in another episode about a Black woman who was murdered, the focus shifted almost immediately to the fact that she got pregnant young.

The host seems genuine, there’s just so much victim blaming and her viewpoints and research skills show she needs an education.
I have listened to it all and now am re-listening! This is the only podcast I’ve come across where the host is truly respectful of the victim and their families. Nikki shares the facts, and makes you truly care. She doesn’t sensationalize. It feels like you’re listening to your friend tell you a story. I truly love Serial Napper and you should too.

A calm, nocturnal true crime podcast that profiles a wide range of cases—disappearances, murders, and investigations—told with steady narration and a respectful focus on victims and evidence. Episodes favor non-sensational storytelling, careful timelines, and forensic detail, often weighing circumstantial versus forensic evidence and exploring how cases unfold over years. Listeners can expect deeply researched narratives, a soothing delivery style, and stories that balance empathy for victims with attention to investigative nuance. A standout feature is the host's restrained, compassionate tone, which can make tough topics approachable for fans who want thorough context without sensationalism.
