  • Great new pod!

I have found the conversations to be insightful and enlightening. Hearing other Jewish young people speak about their experiences and reflect such a wide range of views has been a blessing. Every episode I am left with the desire to learn and connect more while also feeling so seen! I was raised secular and only recently am coming into a more religious practice and hearing the three hosts speak about their own journey’s and experiences is really wonderful. The guests have also been great. I am a... more

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Jewish Enough – with Sara Labaton
Q: How do we navigate our perceptions and the perceptions of others when discussing identity and practicing Judaism in a polarized political landscape?
Engaging in conversations face-to-face allows for deeper understanding compared to social media where meanings can become distorted over time, making interpersonal connections essential.
Jewish Enough – with Sara Labaton
Q: What do you think that common knowledge looks like or should look like for Jews from various backgrounds?
Common knowledge can be challenging to define, as different Jewish identities grapple with varying levels of literacy and practice, leading to a need for spaces where diverse Jewish expressions can be appreciated without deeming others less genuinely Jewish.
Can We Get Along? – With Donniel Hartman
Q: How can we have those conversations in a way that's productive instead of accusatory? Where is the room for these discussions?
Discussion is very different than ritual participation. The goal of conversation is to learn and to grow.
Can We Get Along? – With Donniel Hartman
Q: Donniel, thank you obviously for joining us. I guess, in my experience, in different spaces that attempt to create pluralism, or create pluralistic spaces, it actually doesn't seem to work. I'm wondering if you could just give us a theoretical and also like a very practical definition of pluralism.
Pluralism assumes that you encounter someone who's different than you, and you feel that they're of equal value to you.
Conflict on Campus — With Masua Sagiv
Q: What kinds of conversations are productive for Jewish Americans when we're discussing the viability of Israel as a Jewish and democratic state?
Conversations should focus on understanding the definitions of Jewishness and democracy in Israel, and exploring how to constructively engage with the complexities involved.
