4.8 out of 5 stars from 67 ratings
  • Host issues

The topics are decent, but the host has issues, especially after 250+ episodes. In particular filler words/verbal tics like “right,” “like,” “whatnot” and “here” are distracting. He also vocalizes over his guests in an irritating way. If those things were cleaned up, the show would be greatly improved

  • Knowledgeable and positive

Anthony does a great job bringing news and opinions in a positive and insightful way. Would be 5 stars for me, but sound production needs to come up on his voice

  • Episode 242 Halcyon Daze

Excellent episode about the Galactic Starcruiser documentary. Anthony does an excellent job of discussing the documentary with two of its creators. Anyone who cruised on the Halcyon or have questions about the Starcruiser experience should listen. Any and all support of the documentary would be fantastic.

Talking Points

Maul: Shadow Lord Preview Discussion [261]
Q: Jen, how are you doing and welcome back to the podcast?
Jen expresses excitement to discuss Maul and the upcoming Shadowlord series, sharing her deep fan engagement and perspective on Maul's evolution from animated roots to live-action touches and the potential noir-influenced storytelling.
50 Years of Filming Star Wars! [262]
Q: So Silver, any other thoughts that you have about just learning about the first day of production and how excited are you to celebrate 50 years of Star Wars?
Silver expresses excitement for the anniversary, reflects on the chaotic but hopeful nature of the first day, and notes how the project's risks and behind-the-scenes stories fuel ongoing fan engagement and future storytelling possibilities.
Aftermath Discussion! [260]
Q: What did you think about the way Aftermath handled its post-Endor setting compared to what fans expected at the time?
We discussed that it was a mixed bag: it offered a restrained, insular focus with strong character work, which some fans appreciated for its depth, but others felt it didn't fully reset the canon or answer big questions. In hindsight, the book's structure and interludes provided a foundation for a broader storytelling ecosystem that would unfold over the following years.
Celebrating the High Republic Era! [253]
Q: What are the core lessons Lucasfilm should take from the High Republic?
Trust your creators, don't shy away from being weird, welcome broad representation, ensure tangible stakes, and preserve a hopeful tone that sustains long-term engagement across generations of fans.
Celebrating the High Republic Era! [253]
Q: Do you think Phase Two's back-and-forth structure helped or hindered reader engagement?
Phase Two introduced a necessary complexity by using a back-and-forth timeline to spread out the storytelling while avoiding reader fatigue, though it did create some confusion for casual readers who hadn't kept up with all formats.
