4.8 out of 5 stars from 66 ratings
  • Host issues

The topics are decent, but the host has issues, especially after 250+ episodes. In particular filler words/verbal tics like “right,” “like,” “whatnot” and “here” are distracting. He also vocalizes over his guests in an irritating way. If those things were cleaned up, the show would be greatly improved

  • Knowledgeable and positive

Anthony does a great job bringing news and opinions in a positive and insightful way. Would be 5 stars for me, but sound production needs to come up on his voice

  • Episode 242 Halcyon Daze

Excellent episode about the Galactic Starcruiser documentary. Anthony does an excellent job of discussing the documentary with two of its creators. Anyone who cruised on the Halcyon or have questions about the Starcruiser experience should listen. Any and all support of the documentary would be fantastic.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Celebrating the High Republic Era! [253]
Q: What are the core lessons Lucasfilm should take from the High Republic?
Trust your creators, don't shy away from being weird, welcome broad representation, ensure tangible stakes, and preserve a hopeful tone that sustains long-term engagement across generations of fans.
Celebrating the High Republic Era! [253]
Q: Do you think Phase Two's back-and-forth structure helped or hindered reader engagement?
Phase Two introduced a necessary complexity by using a back-and-forth timeline to spread out the storytelling while avoiding reader fatigue, though it did create some confusion for casual readers who hadn't kept up with all formats.
Celebrating the High Republic Era! [253]
Q: What was your first impression of Project Luminous when it was announced?
My impression was that Lucasfilm presented a bold, art-forward concept with strong visual cues that suggested a new, expansive era, and I expected something as ambitious as Shadows of the Empire or New Jedi Order in its scale.
The Revenge of the Sith Novelization Discussion [258]
Q: But what does this novelization do that the film does not, in your opinion?
It takes us into the heads and hearts of the characters, giving internal perspective and emotional nuance that the film can't convey, especially for characters like Obi-Wan and Anakin, allowing readers to feel the moral and psychological complexity of their choices.
Changes Coming to Galaxy's Edge [254]
Q: Do you think this is a model that could eventually spread to Walt Disney World or become a broader strategy across parks?
Yes, there's potential for a coast-to-coast approach where California acts as a test bed; if the concept proves popular and manageable, similar overlays could be implemented in Florida with careful scheduling and narrative framing to avoid pulling guests out of the experience.
