15 year listener, still rarely miss an episode. A&J make film criticism accessible while never dumbing it down! Keep up the great work!

  • My only problem with Filmspotting is…

That I still mourn the passing of their sister podcast Filmspotting SVU. I don’t get to watch as many movies as I used to, but I still enjoy their discussions. This is The Podcast for movie fans of all kinds.

  • The You Know Show! Amateurs!

Update: Tried listening again after years of ignoring them. And there were 500 “you knows” within the first minute!

These self proclaimed “film freaks” have the most incredible ability to come up with reasons to dislike nearly every film in existence. Great films are remembered forever, not the critics who bashed them.

  • 20 Years of Fantastic Film Insights

I’ve been listening since the Cinecast, Sam pre-“Van” Hallgren days. Twenty years in, this podcast is still amazing and just keeps getting better. Adam, Josh, Sam, Golden Joe, and the rest of the team; thank you, thank you, thank you!

Q: Who do you think will win in the supporting actress category and who should win?
Michael Phillips shares his pick, favoring Inga Ibstaffer-Lilius's Sentimental Value or similar contenders, while Josh and Adam offer counterpoints and talk through ballot considerations.
Morgan Neville on Paul McCartney: Man on the Run
Q: Where does form start to enter the equation for you? Did you always know that you wanted to take the archival route?
I wanted to do this with audio only, to get Paul to a more intimate place of contemplation, which is difficult with cameras present.
Trainspotting Review (30th Anniv.), Pantheon Nominations (#1052)
Q: What do you think was the best choice Boyle and company made?
Choosing the allure of drugs and keeping the film under 90 minutes were crucial choices that allowed for a balance of entertainment and honesty about addiction.
Taxi Driver Review (Archive)
Q: What makes *Taxi Driver* a great film today as opposed to in its day?
Adam argues that the film is incredibly topical and alive, resonating with contemporary themes of alienation and societal anger, while still being a striking work of art.
