  • I'm new here but I'm staying

I was introduced to this podcast by Star Wars 7x7 recently and have started combing my way through the many episodes with my favorites so far being the year long breakdowns of the movies for their anniversaries. I greatly enjoy the deep discussions and as a remote worker having this on in the background I find soothing. May the Force be with you!!

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Episode 1063 - The Clone Wars - "Shadow Warrior" 0404
Q: How does Sidious' plan fit into the broader Star Wars narrative at this point?
Sidious' interest in Grievous and the proposed prison-train exchange for Anakin and Padmé hints at a long-term strategy to exploit attachments and keep key generals in play, foreshadowing the deeper manipulation that unfolds in Revenge of the Sith.
Episode 1063 - The Clone Wars - "Shadow Warrior" 0404
Q: Was Jar Jar crucial to the episode's outcome, or did he feel more like a distraction?
Jar Jar is seen as a sympathetic hero in this arc, providing key moments that enable the Grievous confrontation and the political maneuvering, though his overall handling remains mixed for some viewers who crave tighter integration into the main plot.
Episode 1063 - The Clone Wars - "Shadow Warrior" 0404
Q: What did you think about the two halves of the episode and how they contrasted in tone?
We discussed how the first half leans more into sitcom-like impersonation and spectacle, while the second half delivers high-stakes action with Grievous and stronger emotional resonance, making it feel like a two-part arc in one episode.
Episode 1064 - The Force Awakens, Part 7 - "The Battle of Takodana"
Q: Why does Maz push Rey or Finn to take up the lightsaber?
The hosts discuss Maz's role as a guide who senses potential in new heroes and believes the saber must be used by the right hands to influence the larger fight against evil.
Episode 1064 - The Force Awakens, Part 7 - "The Battle of Takodana"
Q: What stood out about Maz Kanata's interaction and the lightsaber discussion?
Dan explains Maz as force-sensitive but not a Jedi, with a long historical view; the lightsaber serves as a symbol and plot vehicle, raising questions about legacy rather than a clear origin, which invites fan speculation without overloading the narrative.
