  • Fascinating histories told in Monotone

As a longtime listener of this podcast I can say I’ve learned an enormous amount from it and even plan travel to visit places featured in the podcast. With the exception of some fun musical transitions it is, however, a dry, largely emotionless listen. It’s not read by an annoying AI voice but much of the copy is read with a similar flat tone. Perhaps more conversations would liven it up as I think some of the wonderful research here is lost in the listless reading of essays.
